A loan of $1,100 helped to buy coffee plants.

Nicolas's story

Nicolás, age 39, lives with Yolanda, age 34. They have 2 school-aged children. They live together in their own home in the town of Sivia, located in the beautiful Ayacuchana forest. Nicolas says that everything he has is due to his tenacity. He sells his cocoa, coffee and plantain crops. He tries to provide the best care for his plantations. Thanks to this, many of his buyers are satisfied by the quality of his products. With his partner Yolanda's help, he spends more time working the crops. At harvest time, of course, they need to hire help so that they can quickly extract the fruits. Thanks to his daily hard work, he is making a good income. His plan for the future is to invest his income in another kind of business, such as raising barnyard birds. This will be his first loan and he is very happy to know that he will have the support of lenders. He is prepared to complete his repayments punctually. With the money from this loan he will acquire more coffee plants to expand his cultivation, and thus obtain more income when his plants sprout fruit.
