A loan of $1,100 helped to hire workers.

Raúl's story

Raúl, who is a native of the city of Santa Rosa, is 38 years old. He is a happy and hard-working man who lives in his own house together with his partner Rebeca, aged 34, and their three children for whom he provides an adequate education.

Raúl is an enthusiastic man with a friendly personality. He works his lands with much effort so as to progress his production. In particular, he grows cocoa, coffee, and fruit trees; plants that originally come from the jungle area of the Río Apurimac valley. He mentions that the key to his success lies in his perseverance and desire to work. All his plants are worked in in a technical manner, as he has received training in managing pruning and controlling insect infestations, and this makes his crops the best quality.

Raúl normally manages his work himself, but at harvest time he hires workers so as to be speedier in gathering and selecting his product.

With the requested loan, he will hire workers to help him with the harvest and clearing weeds. But once work is finished he tries not to miss the traditional festivals that take place in his city. He participates cheerfully in the celebrations, as you can see in the photo.

This will be his second loan. He is very happy to know that he will once more get financial support, as with this he will feel secure in continuing to prosper, and he is willing to make his scheduled repayments punctually.

With the 3,000 New Soles that he his requesting, he will hire workers to help him with the harvest and clearing the weeds from his plantations.
