A loan of $1,200 helped to purchase a rolling machine for making bread.

Willdrin's story

Willdrin lives in the city of Cartagena de Indias with his wife and two children, ages 2 and 7. He is an entrepreneur who has been able to generate income through his own business where he produces cookies that are sold to different stores in the city. Willdrin started in this business when the previous owner decided not to continue. He purchased the business on credit and repaid the debt a little bit at a time. Willdrin started out with an industrial oven, a display case for holding bread loaves, and oil cans. With these assets, he was able to begin producing and specializing in cookies since he does not have the infrastructure for a formal bakery, which is his goal at the moment. Over time and after extensive marketing, he was able to create his own market. Today he serves 50 stores and hopes to add new products, such as other baked goods, to increase his income. He has the potential to gain more stores and captive markets that will buy cookies through pre-sales.

For this reason, Willdrin is requesting a Kiva loan because he needs to buy a rolling machine so that he can start producing bread and adding new products one at a time.
