A loan of $575 helped to buy clothes, footwear, cosmetics and costume jewelry.

Osiris Marlenis's story

Osiris, 27, lives in the city of Cartagena with her two-year-old daughter. She sells assorted merchandise there, a business she’s had since her adolescence and which she’s determined to see grow especially because it generates wellbeing for her young daughter.

Osiris sells products on credit that she buys from suppliers and that she orders from firms via catalogues or specialized guidebooks. Her target market is located in various parts of the city of Cartagena, especially women.

Her Kiva loan, the first financing from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, will be used to buy clothes, footwear, cosmetics and costume jewelry taking advantage of the items on special promotion or sale appearing in her current seasonal catalogues.

Her challenge is the aggressive special price competition but her work and good customer relations minimize difficulties. In addition, her financial indicators show growth potential and ability to easily respond to financial obligations to increase working capital and be able to buy easily.
