A loan of $550 helped to buy bales of secondhand clothing, jeans, skirts and trousers.

Nelvy Brunel's story

Nelvy Brunel, age 27, is married and the father of a three-year-old child. He lost his father when he was in 9th grade, and had to interrupt his studies due to a lack of financial means. In 2002, he started selling secondhand clothing. His strategy consists in buying bales of discontinued items, fashionable clothes, trousers and jeans, that he sorts and retails at the market.

His daily sales amount to XOF 30'000 to 60'000 (ca US$ 60 to 120) and he intends to save a lot to reach his goals. Thanks to experience he acquired, he intends to open a ready-to-wear store.
