Nueva Generacion Tlahuelilpan Group's story

This group is called 'Nueva Generación Tlahuelilpan' as its members feel that they form part of a new, emerging generation of entrepreneurial women who are in search of financial and personal improvement which will allow them to achieve a better quality of life. The group is located in the State of Hidalgo, in Mexico, and has ten members.

Soledad is a member of this group. She is 51 years old and only studied to elementary school level. She is a retailer and her main business activity is selling plants. Since she started out in this business six years ago, she has obtained good results and income which allows her to cover her needs. She also has the satisfaction of feeling productive. She tells us that the loans that she receives will be a very important driving force in enabling her to grow her business. She will invest this loan in buying a wider range of plants and flowers that her customers are requesting. She will also fill some orders that she currently has. Soledad has gained the trust of her customers by selling good-quality products and providing good customer service. As a result, her customers are always recommending her. With the profits that she makes, Soledad will support her husband with their family expenses and offer her family a better quality of life.
