A loan of $550 helped to buy cows.

Luz Bertha's story

Luz is a member of the 'Tres de Noviembre' community bank. She lives in Cumbe parish. This is a cold-climate area whose people work in commerce, farming and livestock raising. They are very kind, charismatic and hard-working people.

Luz is 76 years old and widowed. She and her husband had four children who are all now grown up, married and living independently. The home in which she lives is the fruit of the work she did in her youth.

Luz raises and sells animals such as guinea pigs, hens and cows (whose milk she sells). She also farms for her own personal consumption.

Luz has been a member of her community bank for several years and she will invest her new loan in buying cows.

Luz' goal is to raise more animals and continue growing in the business.
