A loan of $375 helped to buy wool in different colors.

Vilma Beatriz's story

Vilma is a member of the "Mujeres al Progreso de Juli” community bank which is located in Juli district, in Chucuito province, in Puno department. She is 23 years old, lives with her partner, and doesn't have any children. She completed her higher education.

Vilma has been working with Movimiento Manuela Ramos for four years. Her first loan was for 300 Peruvian soles. She used that money to buy embroidered items and also for her studies. Vilma sells handicrafts. She will use this new loan for 1,000 soles to buy wool in different colors for her embroidery work. She tells us that she also works together with her husband on the farm in Tacna.

Vilma's dream is to own her own well-furnished home and to set up a good craft business.

What Vilma enjoys about her community bank is the friendship, sharing with her fellow members and working as a group.
