A loan of $775 helped to buy wood, paints, sealants, etc.

Magaly Lucia's story

The María Auxiliadora Communal Bank meets in the La Sequita parish, which is part of Montecristi in the prosperous canton of Manabita. It is full of hard-working people who are dedicated and proud of their roots. La Sequita is a parish whose inhabitants are honest people who only know to work and dedicate themselves to their families.

In this area lives Señora Magaly. She is 22 years old and in a common law marriage from which she has a one year old baby. Her partner is a carpenter.

She is taking the loan to help her partner, who has a carpentry workshop in their home. He makes a large variety of products from wood, such as - for example - beds, furniture, doors, drawers and shelves among many other things. He works on the basis of orders from the people who come to their establishment. He works everyday from 8 a.m. through to 4 p.m., and when there is a lot of work to deliver, he works late.

This loan is to buy wood, paints, and sealants, among other products that they needs for making their products. This is her fourth lending cycle with the Communal Bank, and she is grateful because the loans can help her partner and contribute to the household.

Her dream is to have her own home, as she lives in her in-laws' house.
