A loan of $1,450 helped a member to buy DVDs and CDs.

Safia's Group's story

Safia is a 49-year-old widow who lost her husband a few years ago as a result of sudden death. It was a very difficult time for her, but she never lost hope and she brought up her children with great effort. Now her children are older and do different kinds of work to contribute to the family financially.
Safia spends her time at home carrying out her household responsibilities. She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner, Asasah, for her third son, who has a shop in the market selling DVDs and CDs. He sells the latest movies on DVD and songs on CD to his customers. With this loan, he will buy the latest variety of movies and songs to sell in his shop. This will allow him to fulfill customer demand and increase his income. He has been operating his business for the past five years and Safia is very confident that her son’s business will grow well after the investment of this loan.
