A loan of $850 helped to buy a camera and equipment for developing photographs.

Jenifer Patricia's story

Since 2007, 20-year-old Jenifer has had a photography studio in El Centro neighborhood, in the town of Galapa, in the city's metropolitan area. She works there together with her husband. They shoot photos, make banners, produce marquetry and film. Her business has very good infrastructure. She has developing equipment and provides excellent-quality work. Her main customers are mothers who want to record important dates such as graduations, birthdays and children's weddings or weddings of close family members.

Jenifer's goal for the future is to own her own premises so that she can improve her family's well-being with more income for her family. Right now, she needs her first Kiva loan in order to buy a camera and equipment for developing photographs. A general assessment of her business shows that her assets are basically concentrated in her work equipment. Her working capital is low and she would like to expand her stock of raw materials in order to aid the growth of her business. She has great growth potential as she has a very good profit margin and an adequate turnover of both her stock and portfolio. Her good infrastructure and experience are important in guaranteeing the success of this investment. Her dream, and also her biggest challenge, is getting her son ahead in life so that he can become an upstanding, very successful person. This is the main driving force behind her hard work.
