Fidélité Plus Group's story

Jean is a leader of the community bank named “Fidélité Plus” which is composed of 13 microentrepreneurs. They are united in solidarity to obtain loans from Kiva through the MFI HOPE DRC with the goal of developing their businesses. Jean sells food in the mid-eastern area of Kinshasa. He has been in business since 2003. His beginning capital was $50. Currently, through his sales, Jean makes about $15 per day. He plans to use the next loan to purchase two bags of milk to resell in order to increase his income. He is a trustworthy client of the MFI HOPE DRC, having six times received and properly repaid loans. He dreams to someday open a boutique and a drugstore in his area. Jean is 48 years old, married and the father of eight children whose ages range from 8 to 24 years old. All of them attend school.
