Diana Beatriz's story

The Montecristi Community Bank meets every 15 days in the village of Montecristi, which is known for its rich pre-Columbian culture and for its craft-work that is recognized at a national and international level. The village is famous for its straw hats. It is here we find Diana. She is 43 years old, married and has a 19-year-old daughter, who is engaged and has a beautiful baby whom Diana adores. Diana's husband is a soda distributor. She works as a teacher at a city school and also makes a living in commerce, selling Avon beauty products and accessories. She teaches Monday through Friday and makes her sales in her free time, selling items to co-workers and mothers who come to the campus. She sells her items on credit and collects every 15 days. She has been doing this activity for three years and it is going very well. Her husband distributes soda all over the city with his car. With the loan, Diana plans to purchase perfumes, creams and cosmetics to sell as well as sodas for her husband's business. She has been with the community bank for three years and enjoys it because the interest rates are a lot lower compared to other banks. Her dream is to have a state appointment as a teacher.
