Abu's story

Abu Samura is married with one child. He is 28 years old and owns a shop in Kabala town of Sierra Leone. He sells basic groceries, such as rice, sugar, and cooking oil, wholesale. Abu’s business is now steady and established, and it increased as a result of previous loans.

An ambitious man, Abu would like to run a big business in town, so he can provide more for his family. But he cannot afford the loans from the formal financial system. Therefore, he is requesting a loan of $1200 to expand his business.
