A loan of $2,875 helped a member to buy merchandise to stock her store.

Luz Radiante Group's story

Vilma, age 47, is single and has two minor, school age children. She is one of the 13 members that comprise the “Luz Radiante” (Radiante Light) Communal Bank. During the last cycle all of the members showed themselves to be punctual with their payments.

Velma sells wholesale and retail groceries. She gets up very early to open her store. First she does the cleaning, arranging, and selection of the merchandise. Previously she sold food, but this business did not seem to go very well for her. She did not earn enough money to feed her children.

She is requesting this loan to buy merchandise to stock her store, get greater income, and give her children a better quality of life.Vilma’s wish for the future is for her children to become professionals. She is in the center of the photo wearing a white sweater. The members in the smaller photos did not arrive in time for the group photo and their picture was taken afterwards.
