Jean Damascène est commerçant et il est membre du groupe Abakoranabushake. Il est né au Rwanda et a 39 ans. Il est marié et il a 4 enfants de 6 à 13 ans, dont 4 scolarisés. Son niveau d’éducation est 7 ans de primaire.
C’est son premier cycle de prêt avec ACB. Il va utiliser son crédit pour acheter les fers (métaux) de la fabrication des différents objets pour les revendre dans sa région et dans les pays voisin.
Sa stratégie pour la croissance de son business est de travailler beaucoup pour faire connaitre son business aux clients. Dans les prochaines années, Jean voudrait être un grand commerçant, et distributeur des objets fabrique en métal. Avec les profits, Il voudrait payer les frais des études pour ses enfants.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
