A loan of $725 helped to buy stock merchandise for her store.

Ma Teresa's story

Teresa’s married and has a young lady going to high school that depends on her and helps her watch the store in the afternoon. Doña Tere, as she’s affectionately called, tells us that she’s had a grocery store for the last 8 years. She also relates that she set up the store in order to have something to work at and to give her daughter a better quality of life.

Doña Tere is requesting a loan from the financial institution to stock her store with grocery merchandise like: sugar, milk, toilet paper, beans, eggs, sardines, tuna, mayonnaise, oil, soap, diapers, etc. She will buy the products in various stores in her town where prices are low. She says that she tries to have the store very well stocked so that her neighbors won’t have to go downtown and spend on transportation. Doña Tere is very happy because thanks to the loan she’ll have her store well stocked with groceries.
