Leonarda's story

Leonarda was born in the community of Amaru in the city of Pisaq (Perú). She’s 35 years old and is in a common law relationship; she has four children. At present, she lives in the city of Pisaq where she carries out her activities. She has a small workshop at home where she makes artisanal jewelry like rings, bracelets, necklaces, arm bands and pendants. She makes the items on order for her customers. Leonarda needs the loan to buy materials like wire, beads, pearls, and other supplies.

The “Mosoq Ñusta” communal bank meets every thirty days in Pisaq District, Calca Province (Cusco, Perú). Cusco is known for its tourism, its commerce, its traditional “Inti Raymi” festival and because one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machupicchu, is located here.
