A loan of $1,500 helped a member to buy more chicks for her poultry business.

Kuguta Kushanda Group's story

Greetings from Zimbabwe! This is 50-year-old Marcy from Norton, about 40km from Harare. She is married, with four children ages 18, 20, 23 and 29. Three of her children are attending school. She also cares for three dependents. Marcy has been running a poultry business for 16 years. She says the main challenge she faces is bird flu which attacked the chickens during winter. Marcy has requested a loan of $300 to add layers to her stock. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to send her children to good schools. In the future, Marcy plans to increase the number of chickens she sells to get better profits.
