Elinah comes from Gweru and is 43 years old. She is widowed with two children aged 10 and 18. The younger child is attending school. She also cares for two dependents.

Elinah runs a poultry business and sells farm produce. The business has been in operation for 4 years. She says the main challenges she faces are a lack of funds to purchase feedstock and unavailability of feedstock. Elinah has requested a loan of $400 to buy piglets for a piggery project. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to improve her family’s daily diet. In the future Elinah plans to have 200 pigs and 2000 chicks for her two projects.
