Amalia's story

Amalia is a member of the Communal Bank “Mujeres al Progreso de Juli” which is located in the District of Juli, Chucuito Province, Department of Puno. She is 43 years old, married, and has three children. Amalia received her higher education.

The first loan she received from Manuela Ramos was in the amount of 300 PEN and the money was invested in her business of selling handicrafts. She has worked with the organization for one year.

With this new loan of 800 PEN, Amalia will buy five kilos of dyed wool. She will also buy embroidered handicrafts to sell. Her husband works as a teacher.

Amalia’s dream is to improve her business and generate more income. What she enjoys most about the Communal Bank are the convenience of the loan and the savings.
