Siaka has been a professional teacher for 27 years now. He has requested a loan of 2,200,000 leones to invest in agriculture. He will use part to hire laborers and part to buy seeds to plant.

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a Kiva partner based in Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you this group of borrowers from a primary school in Kenema, Eastern Sierra Leone. This group of teachers has come to SMT seeking a loan of 14,600,000 to invest in things that their mere salaries cannot let them do. At the end of each month, the school’s bursar is directly responsible for deducting their repayment and pays SMT/Kiva on their behalf.
