PUCALLPA, Peru / Retail

A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase more beverages so that she can continue her business, and hopefully, have enough to buy a refrigerator as well.

Lila's story

Lila, age 61, is married and enjoys the company of her husband and their five children, with whom she lives in their own house. Lila's work consists of ordering wholesale soft drinks, and then reselling them to her neighbors and some occasional customers who pass by her house. Lila has worked two years in this business, together with her children who for the moment work at seasonal jobs. What she enjoys most about her work is that she can manage her time; however, what she doesn't like is that sometimes she has to bend down often to look for the soft drinks insiD. the refrigerator in order to sell them. In the future, Lila hopes to be able to make her business grow, since she considers that it generates very good profits. This is the 16th loan between Lila and the MFP organization. She really likes the group that she is a part of since they are very responsable and she is grateful to the organization because thanks to the loans she has received, she was able to make many improvements to her home. With the amount of 3,000 soles requested, she will purchase more beverages so that she can continue her business, and hopefully, have enough to buy a refrigerator as well.
