A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase cashew nuts in bulk from the growers.

Tang's story

Mrs. Tang S. is thirty-one years old and lives in Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. She works on her plot of land, breeding pigs and growing cashew nuts, making on average around $7 each day in revenue. Her husband meanwhile works as a horse-cart driver, transporting passengers, and can earn about $6 each day.

Mrs. Tang S. has two children. One of them is enrolled in school and the rest are still too young to go to school. She hopes to use this loan to purchase a large quantity of cashew nuts from the growers and resell them for a profit.
