A loan of $500 helped to plant corn, rice, and beans and purchase seeds, urea, supplies, and natural and chemical fertilizers.

Amalia Rufina's story

Amalia Rufina is 59 years old and married. She lives with her husband and two children, ages thirty-eight and thirty, in the Canton Pueblo Viejo, part of the Ventanas Provincia de los Rios.

The members of the V.R.C. UNIDO SOMOS (We are united) are located in El Marañón district in the Puerto Pechiche parish, which belongs to the Canton Pueblo Viejo. Members of this group work in agriculture, cultivating crops with short growing seasons: corn, rice, and beans.

Amalia works in agriculture, planting corn, rice and beans. She buys her products in the farming supply store Karlita and sells in the Castillo store.

She requests the loan in order to plant more corn, rice, and beans and to purchase seeds, urea, supplies, and natural and liquid fertilizers for her crops.

The support of the loan would allow her to meet her financial needs, facing challenges such as plagues and diseases and the variability of the weather.

Her dream is to be able to purchase land in order to plant and produce much more. In her free time, she likes to take care of household tasks.
