Heidi's story

Heidi is 23 years old and lives in the city of Cartagena with her husband and two-year-old son. She started her business of selling various merchandise, especially clothes for women and men, so that she could pay for her university studies. Her merchandise is targeted to potential customers who are also college students. Heidi’s business has grown gradually and has been extended to other product lines to increase her income to support the welfare of her household.

At the moment she is applying for a Kiva loan, her first form of financing from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. Heidi will use the money to buy sweaters for women and men, as well as men’s overalls. This investment will result in success because these orders have been made by her best customers. Her future goal is to have a shop that specializes in clothes for women, men, and infants. She also hopes to create jobs in order to support the families of the employees who work in her business. Meanwhile, Heidi is able to maintain an accounts receivable period of 35 days, a current ratio of 3.16, and sales profitability of 35.38%.
