"El Renacer de Chacrasana" Communal Bank is a group of nine women entrepreneurs, one of whom is Olinda. Olinda, 41 and single, has one school-age child. For two years Olinda has been selling beauty products, a job that presented itself because of her separation. Since she had to work to support her child, she began selling her products to friends and acquaintances in her area. She tells us that she not only sells beauty products, she also offers cleaning and cooking services. In this way Olinda has overcome her problems, since her greatest motivation is her child. Olinda's wish is to have her own house, since she tells us that she lives with her parents.
The requested loan will be invested in beauty products such as face cream, cologne, talcum powder, and perfume, among others. "El Renacer de Chacrasana" Communal Bank is grateful for the support offered.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
