Sonia Margot's story

Sonia, 28, was born in the Peruvian city of Cusco. She and her partner have two children. She now lives in the city of Urubamba where she operates her kiosk business. She sells snacks, soft drinks, etc. She has operated the business for six years and says that she is happy with her progress. She will use this loan to buy merchandise for resale: crackers, soft drinks, pastries, gum, candy and other general merchandise.

The Senor de los Milagros de Urubamba community bank meets every thirty days in the city of Urubamba (Peru). The region is famous for its traditional Inti Raymi festival and for Machu Piccu, one of the seven wonders of the world.
