A loan of $400 helped to buy and sell products (pasta, potatoes, rice, beans, etc.).

Graca's story

Graca was born in Inhambane Province. She is 32 years old and is a single mother of two children. Both children go to school. Graca supports her sister who lives with her in her house. Graca finished seventh grade. She lives in her own house and is able to save 500 meticais per month.

She moved with her husband to Namaacha District to establish their residence and open a store. She was robbed and because of this went bankrupt. Some years later she approached Hluvuku where she got a loan and began her business. She works from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm and has a profit of 5,000 meticais per month, which she uses for expenses for the house and the store.

Graca has never worked with any banks besides Hluvuku. This is her fourth loan, and she is asking for 10,000 meticais to buy products (pasta, potatoes, rice, beans and other items) to increase her inventory. The previous loans (5,000 meticais, 8,000 meticais and 10,000 meticais) were for the business.

Graca expects to pay off the loan successfully and ask for another to expand her store.
