A loan of $1,250 helped a member to purchase hay for cattle.

Upol's Group's story

Upol is a member of this group. She is 60 and married to a driver. She has raised two daughters and two sons. The first son is in the military; the second is a cutter. The older daughter works as a teacher and the younger daughter is a housewife.

Ten years ago, with an initial investment of 6000 KGS, Upol started to provide sewing services. She sews Kyrgyz national cloth, blankets and pillows. With the profits gained from this activity she purchased cattle for breeding.

Upol applied for the loan because she needs additional money to purchase hay for cattle. In the future she wants to increase the number of cattle and with the profits gained from the business, she plans to purchase a vehicle for the family.
