A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase corrugated metal sheets, nails and wood planks for her house.

Saliciana's story

34-year-old Saliciana is a very responsible and hardworking mother. She lives in a house she owns with her husband, 40-year-old Teofilo, and her three beloved children, whose quality of life she wishes to improve. In Saliciana's life, the green fields of her land have been a very pleasant place to work. Her parents taught her this kind of labor since she was very young, and now she owns her own land which she works on with great care and sacrifice. She has cacao, coffee and plantain crops and owns a total of 2 hectares of land. What she likes most about her work is to harvest her land, because that is how she feels that the months of hard work are rewarded by the quality of her produce. She has been in the business for 15 years and believes that the hardest part is transporting her crop from her farm to the stockpile centers located in the city of San Francisco.
With the requested loan she will purchase materials in order to finish setting up her house. In time, she hopes to save enough money to buy more land so she can leave it to her beloved children as inheritance. This will be her seventh loan with MFP and because of that she needs the support of the lenders in order to fulfill her goal. Furthermore, she is committed to making her repayments punctually and thankful for being a member of her communal bank. With the 3.000 nuevos soles she requested, she will purchase corrugated metal sheets, nails and wood planks.
