A loan of $550 helped to buy the food supplies and beverages she needs to continue working.

Mery's story

Mery, 58, is an enterprising woman. She has her own house which she was able to buy thanks to the effort and sacrifices that she and her husband made together. Mery’s work is the preparation and sale of pizzas and set meals from her home. Mery’s home is very near the Hospital II Essalud de Pucallpa [ESSALUD Hospital Level II of Pucallpa] and the majority of her customers are the hospital’s doctors and other workers who call for deliveries.

Mery has been running her business for four years and has two people helping her. She does not like her work much, but she has to do it because she needs to pay the bills now that her husband is not well and cannot help her much. She hopes to be able to continue her business inasmuch as this is the easiest thing for her to do. This is the 17th loan she has borrowed from MFP. She is also one of the founding members and she likes the group very much since it is very dear to her and everyone is so responsible.

She is very grateful for the loans she has received because, thanks to them, she was able to fix up her house and buy some other things she needed with her profits. With the sum of 1,500 soles she is requesting she will buy food, beverages and other supplies she needs to continue working.
