A loan of $375 helped to buy sacks of fertilizers.

Emiliana's story

Emiliana, age 59, is an outstanding woman who has confronted adversity throughout her life. She had to take care of three small children by herself, but she had help from her sister who lives in the rural district of Yanapuquio. With the fighting spirit that she has displayed throughout her life, she spends every morning looking after her farmland. For the past 16 years, Emiliana has planted potatoes of all varieties. What she enjoys most about her work is to see the crops that she has planted grow and to look after them with great dedication. The crop blooms signal the upcoming harvest.

Emiliana takes her harvested crops to the city of Tarma on Wednesdays and Fridays in order to sell them. The trip takes two hours since she lives a long distance away. In addition, this brave woman raises sheep. She has a herd of 60 and hopes to increase that number. Emiliana is able to earn good income by selling these animals after they have been fattened. Now she plans to plant potatoes of the “Gilgero” variety and hopes to obtain an average production of 10 sacks.

Emiliana is a member of the Communal Bank “Zona Semillero de Yanapuquio” (Planting District of Yanapuquio) and this is her first loan with MFP. She hopes to have everyone’s support so that she can accomplish her goals. In addition, she promises to submit her payments on time. With the support she received, Emiliana will invest the money she requested in the purchase of natural fertilizers to apply on her crop of potatoes of the “Harinosa” variety. This crop will be harvested soon.
