Rosalpina, 47, is single and has worked in the Mayor’s office of Juiglapa for the past 9 years as a Human Resources Assistant. She is requesting a loan for her 10th cycle, money to build a wall at her house since when it rains, the water comes in through the patio and she wants to avoid damaging her house or that her family gets sick.

She is thankful for the support that AFODENIC and Kiva have given her. She previously had 2 loans through Kiva, one to improve her house and the other to buy a computer. The computer has been very helpful to her children who are in school.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
