A loan of $200 helped to buy fabrics and threads in various colors.

Herlinda's story

Herlinda is 55 years old; she is separated and currently lives alone in her home, which she owns. Since she was young, she has learned everything about sewing, and for the last 20 years she has had her own business specializing in the making the aprons and skirts that are typical of the area. This initiative was propelled by her need to earn financial income after she suffered the abandonment of her husband. Shehad to face up to it and find a way to proviD. for her two children.

In the time that has passed since then, she has achieved positive benefits from her work. Her perseverance has kept her going to overcome difficulties such as the theft of sewing from her workshop, which happened to her in this same house. Today she has her workshop, and also has two people who help her with the sewing. She looks to the future with much optimism, and wants to continue moving forward in increasing her production and getting more sophisticated machinery for her workshop.

She heard about MFP through an announcement that came her way; she requested information about the loan conditions, which in her opinion are suitable for her to meet. The money that she is requesting will be directed for the purchase of fabrics and cones of threads in various colors.
