A loan of $1,075 helped to buy mobile phone credits and ingredients for making snacks.

Maria Yolanda's story

Maria Yolanda, age 38, is a friendly and hardworking individual. She is married and her husband is a livestock breeder. They have two sons and two daughters, all of whom are attending school. Her home is located in the neighborhood of La Cruz in the town of Patuca. Maria sells mobile phone credits and sweets. She started her businesses when her husband was living in the United States. He would send remittances, but the money she received was not enough to cover the expenses for herself and her children. Therefore, she decided to find a way to earn a livelihood. After she started selling mobile phone credits, Maria noticed that people would be talking and then linger around her premises. This is when she came up with the idea of also opening a stand for selling sweets.

Maria gives plenty of thanks to God because she is doing very well in her businesses. This has allowed her to help her husband with the expenses related to their home and their children. The loan that Maria is requesting will be used to buy a variety of meats, cassava, cornmeal, and variety of vegetables. She will also buy mobile phone credits. At the moment, neither her family nor her businesses are experiencing any problems. With the support of this loan, her businesses will remain active and her family will have a source of income.

Maria has participated in two loan cycles with FAMA and has completed her payments on time.
