A loan of $3,525 helped a member to buy more sacks of vegetables.

Msisiri Group's story

Maulidi, who is in his early 40s, is married with one child who goes to school. He has been selling fruit and vegetables for 10 years now. He works from 3am to 11 am (works in the mornings only) daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit. This will be his 1st loan from Tujijenge Tanzania; he wants to use it to buy more sacks of vegetables. He collects his vegetable from the farmers who bring them from upcountry at wholesale prices and has to be at the marketplace at 3am in order to get good quality and a lot of sacks of vegetables. He then sells at retail price. His dream is to one day be able to build his own house. He will share this loan with his loan group "Msisiri" which has a total of 19 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
