Esther's Group's story

Esther’s group is comprised of four hard working women. Esther is 21 years old and lives in the town of Zanna in the Kampala west region of Uganda. She is single and has no children. Esther has a tailoring business, which she has had for three years.

To help expand her business, Esther has requested a loan of 400,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase materials for making clothes to sell. With the help of the loan from BRAC, Esther hopes to generate greater profits and buy new clothes for herself. In the future, Esther hopes to expand her business. Esther is a member of BRAC’s Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program, which has helped her prospects for the future by improving her business.
