A loan of $600 helped to buy old warm clothes.


Saira Bano's story

Saira bano has given birth to four sons and a daughter. Her eldest son has matriculated and now sews and makes embroidery on clothes. The next two children are illiterate and her two youngest children are studying.

Her husband is an employee in an organization and she supports him financially by sewing clothes and by doing embroidery work. She is very skillful and prepares beautiful looking dresses for her clients. She is also involved in a thread making business. She gets the thread from old warm clothes and then sells to thread sellers at a profit. Along with her businesses, she also carries out her responsibilities of a housewife very well.

She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah to expand her thread selling business. With the loan, she will buy old warm clothes to get thread out of them for selling. She has been doing this business for the past 15 years and she is confident that an investment will be a profitable one for her.
