A loan of $1,625 helped a member to buy onions and potatoes for selling.

Bilqees' Group's story

Bilqees is 44 years old, married, and her husband has a business of selling onions. He puts the onions on his cart and visits different streets of the city for selling. Bilqees also works in people's homes. She earns a reasonable income from her efforts.

She has 6 children. Her eldest daughter sews clothes, while her eldest son also sells onions.

She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for the further expansion of her husband’s business. With the loan, he will purchase onions and also add potatoes in bulk quantity because during Ramadan (a holy month during which Muslims keep a fast), the purchasing of onions and potatoes increases compared to other days, and this will allow him to make more sales and increase his profits.

Bilqees is very confident about the growth of her husband’s business as a result of this investment. He has been operating his business for the past 10 years.
