Elisa's story

Elisa is a member of the Communal Bank “Mujeres al Progreso de Juli” ("Women of Juli Making Progress"), which is located in the district of Juli in Chucuito province in the department of Puno. She is 45 years old, is cohabiting, and has two children. She studied through to the fifth level of primary education.

She invested her first loan of 300 New Soles in her business selling handicraft items such as embroidery. She also works raising cattle and sheep. She has been working with the Movimiento Manuela Ramos for the last seven years.

With the new loan she is requesting for 2,500 New Soles, she will invest in the purchase of ten head of sheep, cloth, and wools of different colors that she can blend. Her sons help her in her business and her husband is a foreman (construction). Her dream is to have her own home, and for her children to become professionals.

What she likes most about the Communal Bank is the punctuality, responsibility, the savings, and the profits.
