A loan of $500 helped to buy home construction materials (stone, beams, cement, sand, etc.).

Chadreque's story

Chadreque was born in Boane, which is in Maputo Province in southern Mozambique. He is single and has a daughter who is not old enough to go to school. Chadreque is in the fourth year of Management and Administration at the Universidade Pedagogica (Pedagogical University). He lives in his own house with his family and supports his mother and father by sending money to pay their water and energy bills.

He has never left his hometown. For more than eight years he has been a teacher and a MEC (Ministry of Education and Culture) employee. His salary is around 8,200 meticais per month, and he uses it for household expenses. He also saves some money in his bank account (at BIM).

Chadreque had a loan with ProCredit and was able to pay it off without any problems. He learned about Hluvuku through a friend who is also a customer of this institution. This is Chadreque's seventh Hluvuku loan, and he is asking for 13,000 meticais to buy construction materials (stone, beams, cement, sand and other items) so he can continue building his house. The previous loans were for 4,800 meticais, 5,000 meticais, 8,000 meticais, 6,000 meticais, 7,000 meticais, and 2,500 meticais. They were all for his house.

He intends to expand his house and build a sales stall, so he will ask Hluvuku for more loans.
