A loan of $450 helped to purchase birds for her poultry business.

Anna's story

Anna is 56 years old and has been in mixed farming for 6 years. She produces milk, eggs, and maize, which she sells at the local market. She is married with 8 children, all adults save for the last two, who are still in school. Anna has requested a loan of 40,000 Kenyan shillings (KES) from Juhudi Kilimo to purchase more birds and expand her poultry business. This is her fourth loan with Juhudi; her prior loans were repaid promptly. Anna notes that she has had experience with poultry and hopes her new investment will be more productive. She faces significant challenges with dairy since milk is perishable.
