A loan of $3,550 helped a member to buy food items to resell.

Mt Kipengere Group's story

Asha, who is in her early 40s, is married and has two children who are going to school. She has been a food vendor for three years now. She works from 6 a.m to 8 p.m daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be Asha's 5th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to increase her food stock and pay school fees and house expenses. She has paid back all her loans successfully.

Asha hopes for another loan to buy 25 kilos of rice, 15 kilos of flour, 10 kilos of beans, 3 kilos of sugar and cold drinks. Her dream is to one day be able to start selling fabrics and sarongs. She will share this loan with her loan group "Mt Kipengere", which has a total of 15 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
