Cruz Magdalena's story

Señora Cruz is a member of the communal bank who lives in the city of Cuenca. This city has a cool climate. It is the third most important city in the country, and has beautiful architecture that is a combination of colonial and modern. Its people are friendly and keep up their culture and traditions.

Doña Cruz is 44 years old. She is married, and has 3 children from her marriage who are aged 28, 25, and 22 years old. All of her children are married and financially independent. Her husband is a driver by profession; he works as a taxi driver. They do not have their own house, so they live in a rental.

Señora Cruz works selling jello at a market in the city, an activity that she has been engaged in for the last 20 years.

This is her first loan through the communal bank, to which she was invited by her daughter. She will invest the money from her loan into her business, as she will be traveling to another city to sell her products for the festivals, and needs the loan to pay for transport, accommodation, and food.

Her goal is to grow her business on a daily basis.
