A loan of $675 helped to purchase chickens and guinea pigs.

María Angelita's story

María is a member of the Zhullin communal bank. She lives in the Azogues city. This is a beautiful city because of the mixture of colonial and modern architecture. Its people are kind and pleasant, and maintain their culture and traditions.

Mrs. Maria is 32, a widow, and has two children from that union. They are 9 and 14. Her son, the oldest, is in school, and her younger daughter attends a small school in the city. She does not have her own home so she lives where she works.

Maria tends to a farm. There she cares for the animals and works in agriculture. She has been doing this for 11 years and works every day of the week without a fixed schedule. She also has the opportunity to raise her own animals, such as guinea pigs and chickens.

This is her fifth loan in the communal bank and she will invest it in the purchase of chickens and guinea pigs.

Her goal is to finish building her home, which is under construction.
