PUCALLPA, Peru / General Store

A loan of $300 helped to buy threads and fabrics.

Estela's story

Estela, aged 48, is an enterprising woman who is not afraid of challenges or work. She is married and the mother of two daughters, aged 20 and 12. She lives in her own house with her husband and her two daughters.

Estela's work consists in running her multiservice business in her home. It is well implemented in her neighborhood and has everything. In addition, Estela offers her services as a seamstress. She has had this business for already five years. She runs it with her daughters who help her when she is busy sewing. She likes her work because she can do two activities at the same time, she has always an income and she has very good customers. Currently she has a contract with a costume store with weekly deliveries. She also hopes to expand her multiservice business and set up a workshop where she can sew more comfortably.

This is her eighth loan with Microfinanzas Prisma. She is very happy to work with her group because her fellow members are good colleagues. Estela will use her loan to buy products for her multiservice business and a few small items for her sewing activity, such as threads and fabrics.
