Célestine is married to a Port agent named Gérôme and has five children, who are all in school. Only one of the children is still a dependent. The couple jointly ensures that the various family expenses are met. Célestine and her husband live together with their child.

Célestine never went to school. To support herself and her family, she has been running a business for 30 years selling condiments and staple foods out of her home. She gets her supplies in Benin.

With the goal of bolstering her business and further satisfying her customers, Célestine and the other members of the group NONVIGNON GBE are requesting a second loan from ALIDé. Their ambition is to grow their businesses.

Le groupement NONVIGNON GBE est composé de vingt sept membres qui se connaissent parce qu’elles habitent dans le même quartier au Bénin. La présidente de ce groupement, du nom de Célestine, est celle ayant une main levée sur la photo. Dans le but de rehausser le niveau de leur activité afin de mieux faire face à la demande de leur clientèle, ce groupement sollicite l'appui financier de ALIDé. Célestine est mariée à un agent au Port nommé Gérôme et a cinq enfants, tous scolarisés. Parmi les enfants, seulement un est encore à la charge du couple. Le couple assure ensemble les diverses charges familiales. Célestine et son mari habitent ensemble avec leur enfant. Célestine n’est jamais allée à l’école. Pour subvenir à ses besoins et à ceux de sa famille, Célestine mène comme activité depuis trente ans environs, la vente de condiments et de vivres à son domicile. Célestine s'approvisionne au Bénin. Dans le but de renforcer son activité et de mieux satisfaire sa clientèle, Célestine sollicite un deuxième crédit auprès de ALIDé, ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe NONVIGNON GBE. Leur ambition est d’accroître le niveau de leur activité.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
