Virgen De Fátima Group
In this Group: Maria Sunilda, Nicolasa, Sonia, Terenciana, Carmen, Librada, Viviana, Alba, Antonia, Lidia
The communal bank named Virgen de Fátima (Virgin of Fátima) was formed thanks to one of its members. Today the group has 10 members and they are in the first loan cycle of the program for enterprising women. All of them are fighters and, above all, very hardworking women. They have come together with the goal of making an income for their families so that they can contribute to household expenses.

Viviana is a laundress and she says that it's very hard work because she must meet her customers' orders on time. From all around her she receives garments to be washed, which she has no complaints about. One of her goals is to improve her landromat in order to attract more customers. She is very proud of what she does since it's dignified and humble work.

She requests the loan to purchase washing powder, laundry softener and other supplies that are necessary for her work. She thanks the Fundación for the opportunity she is given.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
