Benson's story

Benson is a 29-year-old man. He is married and they have two children aged six and three to whom they hope to give a good education to university level. He runs a retail shop at a busy market area known as Kinanie in Kitengela. He has been running this business for two years now and has one employee.

He says that the business is profitable and the major challenge he has is financial constraints. He however works hard from early morning to late evening to ensure his business is doing well. He is using his loan of KES 80,000 to buy more general items to grow his business to wholesale and meet the demands of his customers. He hopes to diversify into a real estate business in future. He describes himself as honest and understanding.
